Fern is a quiet, one-of-a-kind little girl. Fern is shy around people and needs time to build trust. In a new home, she’ll do best with her own quiet space and someone willing to simply sit with her and let her come around at her own pace. Once she learns your scent and realizes she’s safe, you’ll slowly get to pet her—and that’s when the magic happens.

She’ll bump her head into your hand, make biscuits, and eventually let you scratch her chin and pet her as she rubs against you. If she starts drooling while you pet her, congratulations: Fern really, really likes you.

Fern isn’t a clingy cat. She loves quietly having you nearby but also enjoys her own space. She’s an easy eater, uses her litter box perfectly, and has beautifully soft, glossy fur. She can live with other cats, though she seems more relaxed on her own.

We’re looking for a family who can give Fern a little time, patience, and love without expecting too much from her too soon.

She may not love you on the first day. But Fern has a way of making you feel like you’re the only person in the world she chose to love. And that’s a pretty magical feeling.
