• Adult Cat → Adult cat food for balanced nutrition.
• Overweight cats → Weight-control formula to manage calories.
• Senior cats (7+ years) → Senior food with added joint and kidney support.

🐾 Post-Adoption Medical Guidelines
1. Vaccinations
• Kittens
• If the first vaccine dose has already been given at adoption, the FVRCP booster still needs to be completed.
• Usually, the booster should be scheduled within 2–3 weeks after going home.
• Some kittens may be too young to receive the rabies vaccine. It should be administered once the kitten reaches the appropriate age (typically 12 weeks or older, as advised by the veterinarian).
• Please confirm with the rescue staff the latest date for booster shots, or refer to the kitten’s vaccination records.
• Adult Cats
• Your veterinarian will advise if a booster is needed.
• In many cases, the vet may recommend vaccination every other year.
⸻
2. Parasites & Deworming
• Regardless of kitten or adult, we strongly recommend a fecal test to check for intestinal parasites.
• Most cats receive at least one dose of flea medication during rescue, but we cannot guarantee they are completely parasite-free.
• Any additional deworming (internal or external) should be arranged directly by the adopter with a veterinary clinic.
📌 Tips:
• Parasites are not as scary as they sound—with proper medication and regular litter box cleaning, they can be resolved quickly.
• Humans are rarely infected, so there is little need to worry.
• If you already have resident cats:
• To fully prevent transmission → keep the new cat completely isolated in a separate room.
• If parasites are found → it is often best for all cats in the household to be dewormed together.
⸻
3. Health Check & Additional Testing
• If the cat shows no obvious health concerns, vets usually will not perform extra bloodwork or special tests.
• Whether to test for infectious diseases (e.g., FIV/FeLV) depends on:
• The adopted cat’s condition
• Whether you have other cats at home
• Discussion with your veterinarian
⸻
4. Adoption Policy
• If a serious illness is discovered within 14 days, you may return the cat to the rescue and receive a refund of the adoption fee.
• Once the cat has been officially adopted, all future medical expenses are the responsibility of the adopter.
(Kitten)
(Adult Cat)
