Ginger is an exceptionally calm and sociable gentleman. Weighing 28 pounds, he has a solid, huggable presence (and is currently working on losing weight). However, his size also means he requires a higher level of daily care. Due to his body condition, Ginger is unable to clean his lower half on his own, so his adopter will need to assist with hygiene after he uses the litter box (sometimes his bottom may be a little dirty and needs to be gently wiped).

For weight loss, it’s important that progress is slow to protect his liver. He currently does not require medication, but he does have a heart murmur, so excessive stimulation or intense exercise is not recommended.

Lifestyle needs: Because of his larger size, Ginger must use a large, open litter box. He would thrive in a home that can provide consistent physical support, patience, and a willingness to make his care part of daily life.
